EPA Region 8 Wetland Program Capacity Building Workshop September 21-24, Bozeman, Montana 2nd Call for Abstracts and Posters - Extended deadline: May 14, 2010
It’s not to late to submit! We hope you will share your expertise and join others this September for the “Wetland Program Capacity Building Workshop” in Bozeman, Montana. Montana DEQ’s Wetland Program and Region 8 of the USEPA are co-hosting this conference that is geared toward states and tribes in EPA’s Region 8. EPA Region 8 includes: Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, and 27 sovereign tribal nations. Other interested parties are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The overall goal of the workshop is to build wetland program capacity in EPA Region 8 States and Tribes to protect and Restore wetlands and riparian areas and help meet the national goal of no-net loss and net gain in function and acreage. The workshop will focus on integrating EPA’s 4 Core Elements of the Wetland Program. Presentations are being sought for September 22 and 23. The poster session will be during the social hour on September 22.

The Weekly Coal Production Report has been updated for the business week ended,
April 24, 2010. The report contains weekly estimates.
For the week:
* U.S. coal production totaled approximately 21.4 million short tons (mmst)
* This production estimate is approximately the same as in last week’s estimate,
and 4.3 percent higher than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2009
* Coal production east of the Mississippi River totaled 9.4 mmst
* Coal production west of the Mississippi River totaled 12.0 mmst
