*Arkansas clean diesel projects get $295,000 from EPA*
(Dallas, Texas - October 8, 2008) The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) will receive $295,320 from the Environmental Protection Agency to help reduce diesel emissions.
EPA Region 6 in Dallas announced a total of $1,378,160 in grants today for clean diesel projects in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas under the State Clean Diesel Program. Grants from the State Clean Diesel Program are direct, non-competitive assistance awards designed to allow states to build programs that reduce diesel emissions from existing fleets. ADEQ will use its grant to fund projects that reduce diesel emissions by using retrofit equipment, idle reduction technologies, and other techniques.
