The Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing to share information, answer questions and receive comments about DEQ’s proposed consent order for a prospective purchaser agreement with Clackamas County Service District No. 1 and Tri-City Service District. The districts are buying the property from the Blue Heron Paper Company’s bankruptcy trustee. The districts plan to redevelop the site as a wastewater discharge facility and open space.

Cleanup activities resume this week at the Arkema Inc. site located at 6400 N.W. Front Avenue on the west bank of the Willamette River with a focus on addressing the upland areas. Chemical manufacturing from 1941 until 2001 contaminated the site with chemical.
