EIA’s primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. In the first quarter of 2008, total net imports of energy as a share of consumption in the United States stood at 24.3 percent, down 10.3 percent compared with the first quarter of 2007; and down 14.4% compared with the first quarter of 2006.
