Weather permitting, the Delaware Mosquito Control Section is planning insecticide applications to the following marshes to control mosquito larvae beginning as early as 6:00 AM on Sat. July 26, 2008 and/or Sun. July 27, 2008 continuing throughout the day as weather permits:
Broad Dyke Marsh in the city of New Castle and Army Creek Marsh just south of the city of New Castle.
The granular insecticide Abate 2BG will be applied via fixed wing aircraft.
All insecticides used are EPA-registered for mosquito control and applied according to EPA-approved label instructions, which the EPA has determined can be used without posing unreasonable risks to human health, wildlife or the environment.
