Weather permitting, the Delaware Mosquito Control Section is planning insecticide applications to the following marshes to control mosquito larvae beginning as early as 6:00 PM on Tues. Aug. 19, 2008 or 6:00 AM on Wed. Aug. 20 and continuing throughout the day as weather permits:
Taylor’s Gut impoundment at the intersection of Rt. 9 & Rt. 6 east of Smyrna.
Liquid methoprene will be applied via fixed wing aircraft.
All insecticides used are EPA-registered for mosquito control and applied according to EPA-approved label instructions, which the EPA has determined can be used without posing unreasonable risks to human health, wildlife or the environment.
