DEQ and OHA have posted corrected versions of two tables included in the Cleaner Air Oregon public comment rules. Both Table 3 (Toxicity Reference Values) and Table 5 (Risk Based Concentrations) have been corrected in order to fix a clerical error that was discovered after the tables were produced for publication. The updated tables are posted here [ http://www.oregon.gov/deq/Rulemaking%20Docs/cao-pn-Div245tables.pdf ].
The corrected entries in the two revised tables are for formaldehyde, an air toxic. Incorrect values for formaldehyde were inadvertently entered when the tables were made. The corrections make the values listed on the corrected tables consistent with how other toxicity standards were developed in the tables. DEQ corrected the values for formaldehyde so that they match DEQs proposed Ambient Benchmark Concentrations developed by the Air Toxics Science Advisory Committee. Other similar toxicity values have also been rechecked and verified.
We regret any inconvenience and confusion this may have caused.
