Modelling environmental change due to Black Carbon

Does anyone have experience using climate models to simulate climate change, with aerosols as one of the variables changeable by user input?

At uni we have used EdGCM, but this modelling software does not include aerosols other than CFC11 & CFC12 as adjustable climate forcings. Maybe there are plugins available for this software that would allow for different aerosol inputs? A couple of course-mates and I are looking to study the effects of black carbon on climate change, and would really like to include some model data in our project if possible.
